Riding Lessons

On a very chilly afternoon M and Z joined Jack and Theo for a real riding lesson. They started off by getting 'suited and booted' and then they were off to get on their ponies. They practiced walking and trotting with some help from the leaders. They finished the class by playing the game 'Around the World', in which they have to rotate 360 degrees in the saddle as fast as you can. I used to love that game when I had riding lessons, and M and Z both made good attempts. It was only a 20 minute lesson, but that was just long enough to keep it fun:)

Fun with the family

So much fun, so little time to blog:)

So here are a few pictures of our trip to England. The first week we were here we were treated to a freak spring time heatwave. It was glorious to be out and about in the English countryside with sunshine in the sky, and the daffodils in bloom. We were even able to have a family BBQ and the kids loved having their own table.

We have been having a ball hanging out at Nana's and playing with Jack and Theo and the latest addition to the family 'baby' Martha. We have been taking advantage of the dry weather and have been visiting lots of farms and playing out in the woods.

Now the weather has returned to normal we have been enjoying playing inside and today the kids got their face painted at Happy Hippos play center.

It's hard to believe that this time next week we'll be headed Stateside again. Until then we'll continue our adventures for a little while longer.

It's raining it's pouring

It's been an epic week for rain this week, but that didn't stop us getting outside this morning and playing at Discovery park. The favorite game was splashing in a really deep puddle, followed by throwing their gloves in. That was fun for a long time, but then they got cold and needed to head inside. M and z put on a fantastic show about a seagull and a bald eagle, that went on for a REALLY long time:)

St Patricks day

My friend Jamie and her girls, the "CassieLeah" invited us over to celebrate St. Patricks day. Jamie out did herself with a very green feast and fun crafts for the kids. Thank you Jamie! Our contribution to the festivities was to make green cupcakes. M and Z took their cooking duties seriously and the cakes turned out pretty well. Normally I don't do a thing for St.Patricks day, but this was a fun excuse to hang out with friends and eat a lot of green things.

Yeah like I said

Yeah, like I said a really MASSIVE mess. Quiet time is not so quiet in this house:)

24 hour party people

Well it has been a while since I have blogged and that is mostly because since M and Z stopped napping I don't have as much time. They do go to bed, and to sleep earlier, but to be honest by the time I have made it through the day I am just too exhausted. Often we leave the house at 8:30 and sometimes we don't get back until 4 or 5 p.m. They truly do have amazing stamina for 3 year olds, which is fun in lots of ways but is also tiring for me. It amazes me when friends say things about their kids like "they can look at books for hours" or "they like to stay home and play by themselves." If M and Z had it there way, and they frequently do, each day would be a new adventure to a different place. I cannot think for the life of me where they got that mentality:)

So since the last post we have been on a hundred bike rides, a thousand walks, been to the park about a million times, to open gyms, to pre-school, to dance class, been swimming twice, down to Tacoma to the zoo, The seattle zoo, hung out with friends at gymnastics, been trampolineing and run too many errands to recount.

Anyway they have been very quiet whilst I have been catching up with this, so you know that there is a MASSIVE mess somewhere for me to clean up now.
