We're Going Downtown

On Friday we kicked off the Christmas season with a trip downtown with the BFF's. We met at 10 a.m. at Seattle center to look at the train and model village. Hot chocolates all round also added to the holiday spirit. We took a little time to listen to the Christmas concert, then jumped on the monorail to visit the holiday carousel. From there we walked through downtown with 4 gleeful children to see the teddy bear suite at the Fairmont and the Gingerbread houses at The Sheraton.

The Teddy Bear suite is a hotel suite filled with christmas trees and lots and lots of teddy bears. The kids loved it and GiGi kept sweeping around saying "This is magical", meanwhile M and Z were jumping on the bed on top of all the teddy bears. I have to say they were all a bit 'rock star' and tried to trash the place in about three seconds flat. Luckily we bribed them out with the complimentary candy canes before any major damage occurred.

The Gingerbread houses were impressive. Most of them were based on train stations from around the world. The kiddos liked the model train set best.

After lunch we jumped back on the monorail and back to Seattle center. We spent time playing by the fountain then a surprisingly long time playing on a large pile of wood chips. It was a great day and fun way to start of the christmas season with our friends.
